Dr. Bradley Walker, the founder of Walker Pediatric Dentistry, is a Salt Lake City native who completed his dental education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After practicing as a general dentist for four years, Dr. Walker decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry to provide the best care possible for children.
At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we understand the importance of creating positive dental experiences for children. Our staff is highly trained and dedicated to reducing the stress often associated with dental visits, making both parents and children feel comfortable and at ease during their appointments.
Preventive Services
We believe in the importance of preventive care to keep your child's teeth and gums healthy. Our preventive services include dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants. Dental cleanings are recommended every six months to remove plaque and tartar buildup that can contribute to tooth decay and gum disease. Fluoride treatments help strengthen the enamel of your child's teeth, making them more resistant to cavities. Dental sealants are a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, providing an extra layer of protection against cavities.
Restorative Work
Should your child need any restorative work done, such as fillings, crowns, or extractions, we use the latest techniques and materials to ensure the most comfortable and efficient treatment possible. We believe in providing painless dental services for kids, making sure they have a positive experience at the dentist.
Frenectomy
A frenectomy is a procedure used to remove a frenum, a thin band of tissue that connects the lip or tongue to the gums. A frenectomy may be recommended if the frenum is causing a gap between the front teeth, restricting tongue movement, or causing speech or feeding difficulties. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we use the latest technology to perform frenectomies, including the Solea dental laser, making the procedure quick, painless, and with minimal recovery time.
Tooth Extractions for Kids
Sometimes tooth extractions are necessary for kids, such as when a tooth is severely decayed, causing pain or infection, or when there is not enough space in the mouth for all the teeth. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we use the latest techniques and anesthesia options to ensure a painless and stress-free experience for your child.
Crown Surgery
Crown surgery may be necessary for children when a tooth is too severely decayed to be restored with a filling, or when a primary tooth is lost prematurely, causing a shift in the position of the remaining teeth. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we offer crown surgery services to ensure the proper development of your child's teeth.
Pulp Therapy for Primary Teeth
Pulp therapy, also known as a "baby root canal, " is a procedure used to treat infected or inflamed pulp tissue in a child's primary tooth. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we offer pulp therapy services to ensure that your child's primary teeth remain healthy and functional until they are ready to fall out naturally.
Dental Sealants and Fillings
Dental sealants and fillings are used to treat tooth decay. Dental sealants are a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth to prevent cavities from forming. Fillings are used to treat existing tooth decay and prevent it from spreading. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we use the latest materials and techniques to ensure the most comfortable and efficient treatment possible.
Behavior Management
At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we understand that children may feel anxious or scared about dental appointments. That's why we offer behavior management techniques to help your child feel comfortable and at ease during their appointment. We take the time to explain each procedure in a way that your child can understand, and we offer options such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedation to help your child relax during their appointment.
Emergency Care
Dental emergencies can happen at any time, which is why we offer emergency care services. If your child experiences a dental emergency, such as a knocked-out tooth or severe toothache, call us immediately, and we will do our best to see you as soon as possible.
Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment is used to correct misaligned teeth and jaws. At Walker Pediatric Dentistry, we offer orthodontic services to help your child achieve a healthy, functional, and beautiful smile. We offer traditional braces, clear aligners, and other orthodontic appliances to suit your child's needs and preferences.
