Meet Our Doctor

About Dr. Sam F. Wheeler: Dr. Wheeler completed his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wofford College. He received his graduate degree in dentistry from the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina with clinical awards in the areas of Prosthodontics and Endodontics. He is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentistry, and he began his practice of General Dentistry in Saluda in 1976. Dr. Wheeler has 2 children, 2 step-children, and 7 grandchildren. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and outdoor activities.

• General Dentistry: Our general dentistry services focus on preventive care, diagnosing and treating dental problems, and restoring dental health. We offer routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and more.

• Teeth Whitening: We offer professional teeth whitening treatments to help you achieve a brighter, more radiant smile.

• Crowns: Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. They can also be used to improve the appearance of misshapen or discolored teeth.

• Dental Implants: Before the development of dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth. Implants are usually made of a surgical-grade metal and are placed into the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure.

• Veneers: Veneers are usually made by a dental lab technician working from a model provided by your dentist. They are thin, custom-made shells that are placed on the front of your teeth to improve their appearance.

• Dentures: A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and adjacent tissues. It is made of acrylic resin, sometimes in combination with various metals.
