Live your 'Why' and do good together!
At Dental Lifeline Network, we have been dedicated to changing and saving lives since 1975 through a network of volunteer dentists and labs that provide comprehensive dentistry for adults with special needs across the United States. Our organization has a rich history, dating back to 1974 when a young dental student, Dr. Larry Coffee, dreamed of making a difference in oral health by changing the lives of people with developmental disabilities, including his beloved sister, Barbie.
Our Mission
Our mission is to change the lives of America's most vulnerable adults through our coordinated system of care. We provide comprehensive dental care to adults across the United States through the generosity of a network of volunteer dentists and laboratories. Our programs are designed to address the unique needs of our patients, who often face significant barriers to accessing dental care.
History
In 1974, Dr. Coffee founded the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped in Colorado, which later became Dental Lifeline Network. In the first several years, the organization focused on educating and helping people with disabilities improve their oral health through hygiene training. Inspired by his passion, soon other dedicated oral health care advocates and partners across the dental industry joined in the cause.
Our Programs
At Dental Lifeline Network, we operate through two primary programs:
Donated Dental Services (DDS)
The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides free, comprehensive dental treatment to our country's most vulnerable people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile. In addition, we support many veterans through our DDS program. These are people who cannot afford necessary treatment and cannot get public aid.
Colorado Campaign of Concern (COC) Program
The Colorado Campaign of Concern (COC) Program provides oral hygiene training for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities and their caregivers, family, or support staff. Individuals with a developmental or intellectual disability are taught proper techniques and provided materials needed to ensure a healthy mouth.
Our Vision
Our vision is that all vulnerable adults have access to life-changing dental care. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality dental care, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
At Dental Lifeline Network, we are committed to developing and nurturing a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community where people feel valued and respected. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to creating a more just and compassionate society.
