Patients' Experiences
The reviews highlight the disparities in treatment and service offered by Dr. Boylan's dental practice. While one patient, Eileen Horowitz, had a positive experience, the other two patients, Joe Mungo Jr and Sphinxrb, had several issues during their visits.
Racial Profiling and Treatment
Joe Mungo Jr, a patient of six years, shares a disturbing experience where he felt racially profiled by the dentist. He alleged that Dr. Boylan made racist statements, stating that the receptionist felt threatened by Joe's muscular appearance and perceived him as an "angry black muscular man." Joe felt disrespected and discredited, ultimately leading him to question the practice's professionalism.
Poor Communication and Service
Sphinxrb, another patient, was disappointed with the lack of communication and poor service. He experienced difficulties in getting his crown work done, and staff members repeatedly failed to call him back or respond to his concerns. Sphinxrb also shared an incident where his wife was referred to another dentist due to complications with her root canal, leaving her in pain and frustrated.
Unprofessional Behavior
Both Joe and Sphinxrb described being treated poorly by the office staff, including being talked down to, ignored, or dismissed. Sphinxrb's review highlights the distracting atmosphere during his appointment, where multiple staff members stopped by to ask questions, causing him to feel disrespected.
